Queen Latifah’s transition from a mega rap star to a movie star has been a sight. However, the artist and actor pointed out that she’s maintained success by adding a special clause in her contracts following her portrayal of the character Cleo in the 1996 film ‘Set It Off.’

During an appearance on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’ in 2017, Latifah gave more details about her “no-death clause.” Latifah noted the move was to ensure there was a possibility of being in a sequel if one happened for the movie she was starring in.

The artist referenced ‘Set It Off,’ saying, “I put a death clause in my contract right after that movie. I was like, wait a minute, I’m starting to die too good in these movies, and if I die, I can’t be in the sequel.” She concluded by saying, “No more dying. That's it!”
