In wake of America's recent uptick in Smash-and-Grab theft, a pair of siblings by the name of Sarah and Dallas Baca decided that their employers were not going to fall victim to the brazen trend when they fought off a dramatic robbery attempt. The incident took place on Sunday at a jewelry store called Princess Bride Diamonds. Video footage captured on the store's surveillance shows a group of hooded perpetrators rushing into the establishment, and shattering the glass of a display case with a sledgehammer, located near the front entrance of the store. At which point, the act of resistance from Sara and her brother Baca, was well underway. As soon as the sound of broken glass resonated throughout the store, Baca ran from behind the counter, made his way toward the robbers, and unleashed a bevy of punches. His sister, Sarah, soon joined in on the fray, landing a couple of kicks at the criminals before they stumbled back and retracted towards the exit.

"I didn't think too much going into it, I just kind of reacted," Dallas said. "I feel like you never think it's gonna happen to you but you always know it's a possibility, in the back of your mind."

While the sibling duo's actions are being heralded as brave, they did contradict the advice that the police have handed down regarding how not to engage in incidents such as these. But nevertheless, Sarah was glad that she and her brother were able to prevent the robbers from causing even more damage to the family-owned store that they work for.

"That's definitely very frustrating. They feel like they can get away with it," Sarah said. "But I'm really happy that we were able to stop that from happening."

The perpetrators reportedly made off with $7,700 worth of jewelry for their troubles. So far, no arrests have been made related to this robbery, but officials with the Huntington Beach Police Department say that they are still actively searching for ways to bring the criminals to justice.
