The Staples Center signage was removed from the iconic venue in Downtown Los Angeles that housed the post-Showtime iteration of the Lakers dynasty. In place of "Staples Center" will be "Crypto.com Arena" after the cryptocurrency company paid $700,000,000 for the naming rights.
According to reports, the arena will dawn the new name by Christmas. However, that hasn't stopped Los Angelenos and fans of LA pro basketball and hockey from saying that they will forever refer to the venue as Staples Center.
