Update 04/26/2021 8:59am:

News surfaced that a 7-year-old girl in Chicago was shot while at a local McDonald’s. The young girl was not the intended target but was tragically struck in the incident.

While one reason for the shooting allegedly stems from the father’s name appearing on a PPP list, a YouTube video allegedly shows another reason the shooting went down. The father of the 7-year-old, whose name is Tilla, was allegedly seen peeing on the grave of his opps, which may have sparked the shooting.

News of this comes after an 18-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with 17 felonies in relation to the shooting.

Update 04/22/2021 1:07pm:

The father of a seven-year-old girl who died after they were both shot at a McDonald's drive-thru demanded justice at a vigil for his dead daughter.

Jontae Adams addressed media and the roughly 75 people who gathered in East Garfield Park Wednesday evening. The father appeared in crutches, as he continues to recover from a gunshot wound to the back, and described the pain of losing his daughter Jaslyn.

"That's my baby I just lost," Adams said. "I got shot. My baby got shot six times."

He also described his final moments with his daughter, claiming the last thing she said was, "Daddy!" in a panicked voice. He also demanded that Jaslyn's killers be brought to justice and locked up.

"I see my daughter face down in my car. Oh, I will never forget," Adams continued. "I want my daughter's killers locked up...All these cameras, use them, use them. I want justice for my baby...I want my baby's killers in jail."

While Adams didn't explain the details of Sunday's shooting, police believe the shooting was gang-related. Less than three hours after the McDonald's shooting, two people were shot in a car at a Popeyes, which investigators believe is connected to the McDonald’s shooting.

In addition, Jontae Adams is reportedly a rapper known as Tilla who was filmed urinating on an enemy's gravesite. Some believe the shooting was in retaliation for the act after his name and address allegedly appeared on a list of PPP loan recipients. Neither details have been confirmed by the authorities as the police are still investigating the shooting.

A Chicago father and his 7-year-old daughter were at a McDonald's drive-thru on Sunday when a gunman opened fire on the vehicle and fatally wounded the child.

The 29-year-old father was shot in the torso and is still hospitalized in serious condition. Police rushed Jaslyn Adams to the hospital after suffering multiple gunshot wounds but was pronounced dead.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot claimed she was "heartbroken and angered" over the shooting and tweeted, "This unthinkable act of violence has no place here. The epidemic of gun violence cutting our children's lives short cannot go on."

Since the incident, reports indicate that a list of PPP loan recipients may have contributed to the father being targeted in the shooting. Authorities reportedly released a list of names and addresses of people who allegedly scammed for PPP loans in other people's names.

The male shooting victim reportedly made a Facebook post about finding his name on the list one hour before the shooting occurred.

"Opps prolly downstairs waiting on me," he wrote.

Police have not issued a comment on the possible connection between the PPP loan list and Sunday's shooting. Authorities are still searching for the shooter.
