According to reports, a Texas man identified as Guy Reffitt allegedly threatened to shoot his children if they told authorities about his participation in the Jan 6 Capitol Hill insurrection. TMZ reports that Reffitt's wife went to the police after her husband told their son and daughter, "If you turn me in, you're a traitor, and you know what happens to traitors ... traitors get shot."
Reffitt's threats also included telling his daughter that he'd "put a bullet" through her phone if she told any of her friends about his actions. The arrest affidavit says the man admitted to his family that he "stormed the Capitol" and had to erase the footage from his devices due to the FBI being on his trail. He was seen wearing a helmet with a GoPro camera mounted atop the helmet.
The wife says he is a member of a far-right-wing militia group, the Three Percenters, and noted that she hadn't believed he'd follow through on his alleged threats to storm the Capitol. Reffitt's accused of unlawful entry and obstruction of justice.
