Almost a year ago, Kanye West held his ‘Nebuchadnezzar’ opera show at the Hollywood Bowl in California. The opera show arrived shortly after the release of his ‘Jesus is King’ album. The show reportedly was panned by fans who were upset at the two-hour late start for the show, which reportedly only last 50 minutes. Now, legal documents that surfaced noted opera staffers for the show are suing the rapper for $1 million in unpaid wages for their help with the show.

The lawsuit says, “The defendants oversaw, controlled and ran the production, and the aggrieved employees worked many hours on the production and were not timely paid for their work, or paid at all. In addition, Defendants misclassified Plaintiffs and Aggrieved Employees as independent contractors as no deductions were made for payroll taxes.” People listed as plaintiffs in the lawsuit include various background actors and a hairstylist who claims they were supposed to receive $550 for two days of work. The hairstylist allegedly only received a $530 check four months later and was charged a $20 wire fee in order to receive their payment.

The various workers listed as plaintiffs on the lawsuit are looking to receive “unpaid wages, continuing wages, damages, civil penalties, statutory penalties and attorney’s fees, and costs” from Kanye. Stay tuned for more details.
