According to reports, Houston rapper Montana22, real name Emanuel Solomon, was killed on Monday afternoon after trying to shield his girlfriend's 11-year-old shot from gunfire. Despite Solomon's efforts, the boy was still wounded and later succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
Witnesses say the assailants were waiting at the apartment complex where Solomon lived with his girlfriend and her son. Surveillance footage shows the three armed suspects open fire before jumping back inside what witnesses described as a black Pontiac.
The police have yet to make any arrests and have not released the descriptions of the suspects.
