Dwight Howard is reportedly headed back to Los Angeles for his second stint with the Lakers. The Memphis Grizzlies just announced that they would be buying Howard out of his contract making him a free agent. Los Angeles, however, isn't offering Dwight a guaranteed contract. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Howard will be signing a one-year $2.6 million deal. League sources say an emotional meeting with Lakers coaches and players showed them how serious the former All-Star is about playing basketball for a contender.

The latest injury to 4x All-Star DeMarcus Cousins was a devastating sight to see for any basketball fan. Cousins battled injuries last season and was gearing up to return to All-Star form with the Lakers but a torn ACL now sidelines Boogie yet again.
After the news of Cousins' injury, a former Laker big man was rumored to be a player of interest to shore up LA's frontcourt in Boogie's absence. ESPN's Ramona Shelbourne reported on Sunday that Dwight Howard has entered the conversation of becoming a member of the Lakers for a second stint.
Howard has unfortunately become somewhat of a journeyman since his first tenure in Los Angeles. Before going down with a gluteal injury while in DC playing for the Wizards, Howard averaged 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds. While he's no longer the "Superman" version of himself that we saw in Orlando, the Lakers only have JaVale McGee at center and an all-world player in Anthony Davis who is uninterested in playing the position.
