James Harden had one of the most memorable, historic offensive seasons the NBA has ever seen. Despite Harden's stellar play last season, the Los Angeles native finished second in the MVP race behind the winner, Giannis Antetokounmpo. During a recent interview, Harden spoke about losing the award after such a dynamic season and according to James, it had everything to do with the media narrative.

Harden explained that the media constructs a narrative at the beginning of the season that carries on through the year. Harden's historic run was overshadowed by the narrative created about Giannis coming into the season as well as narratives surrounding his [Harden's] playoff shortcomings and volume shooting.
