In this flashback from earlier this year, Malik Yoba spoke about his experience while working on the hit show "Empire" with the now highly controversial Jussie Smollett, who he said reminded him of himself as he considered him family. Additionally, he notes that he saw a hunger and desire for activism in Smollett when they first started working together, while shutting down the rumor that years ago he mistakenly outed him as a gay man to the public when at the time he had kept that information private. "The internet has no chill," Yoba said of the rumor, as he added that the controversial programming on "Empire" has now spilled over to real life.
