Although her critics believe that the other nominees may have been more deserving, Mary J. Blige went on the record last night to say Cardi B absolutely deserved to be the first female rapper to ever win Album of the Year at the BET Awards.

Cardi won the award over Travis Scott's ASTROWORLD, Meek Mill's Championships, The Carters Everything is Love, and Ella Mai's self-titled album, along with winning Best Female Hip-Hop Artist over Kash Doll, Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Remy Ma.

Meanwhile, Mary J. Blige had perhaps the performance of the night as she accepted her Lifetime Achievement Award, and after the awards the 'Queen of Hip-Hop Soul' made no hesitation in co-signing the 26-year-old superstar.

"She deserved that s***," Mary said when asked about Cardi's historic win, "Cardi is my f****** b****, she's amazing, God bless Cardi."
