Amid rumors and false reports over the current status of Bushwick Bill of the Geto Boys, it's also been announced that Scarface has officially entered his name in the running for Houston City Council.

Though Brother Mob (real name Brad Jordan) originally took to IG last week to tease his intentions of running, over the weekend the legendary emcee announced his official campaign to become a council member for the city's District D. "It’s official," he revealed on social media, "I’m offering myself for service as the next Houston City Councilmember for District D. Join our movement! More details to come. www.bradfordistrictd.com."

Additionally, it's been revealed that his campaign slogan is "Of the People, For the People," while his announcement drew much support from his peers in the music industry, such as fellow Houston veteran Bun B who simply wrote: "I'm here for this."

Meanwhile, it should be noted that these announcements came prior to Scarface's R.I.P. post to Bushwick Bill this morning, which has since been deleted as his publicist has confirmed that the Geto Boys legend is still alive and fighting cancer in the hospital.
