Mississippi state representative Doug McLeod was arrested after allegedly punching his wife for not undressing fast enough for sex. Authorities say they responded to a domestic violence call around 9 PM on Saturday when they found an intoxicated McLeod. Inside cops found McLeod's wife shaking in fear with a bloodied face from the punch to the nose by the GOP representative.
Some of his fellow GOP representatives are calling for his resignation, particularly GOP House Speaker Philip Gunn who told reporters, “I have attempted to contact Rep. McLeod to request his resignation if, in fact, these allegations are true."
The 58-year-old politician was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and was released on $1,000 bond.
