Earlier in the week, the legendary John Singleton was hospitalized after suffering what was initially reported as a "mild" stroke, yet now it's been revealed that the famed director is in a coma and his condition is more serious than what was originally thought.
According to the legal docs obtained by TMZ, Singleton's mother, Shelia Ward, has asked a judge to appoint her temporary conservator because he is "unable to properly provide for his personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter," in addition to being unable to sign a lucrative settlement agreement that was reportedly in the works before the stroke.
Ward hopes to execute the settlement and handle his other business affairs while the 51-year-old director hopefully recovers, as it was last reported that he was in ICU over the weekend and that he was under "great medical care."

Famed director and screenwriter John Singleton was hospitalized after having a "mild" stroke, according to TMZ.
Singleton reportedly checked himself into a hospital after experiencing weakness in his leg, which a family member believes might have been triggered while flying back to the U.S. from Costa Rica. Doctors have been performing rehab and administering tests on Singleton since he arrived to the hospital, while many of his celebrity friends asked their followers for prayers.
