The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly in the running for the services of one Kyrie Irving according to Stephen A. Smith. During his daily radio show, Smith said that he has sources close to Irving who have said that the current Celtics point guard will hold a meeting with Los Angeles during his free agency recruitment period which starts July 1st. "I'm told Kyrie Irving will grant the Lakers an interview this offseason. The Lakers will have an opp to get Kyrie Irving to come to LA I did not say he's coming to LA! I did not say that!..." Smith said on air. "...I don't know what he's gonna do, but during his free-agent tour, I'm told he'll give the Lakers an interview."

Rumors have swirled around Kyrie Irving joining the New York Knicks this offseason but the Lakers will definitely look to steer his choice toward the West Coast. LeBron and Irving had a successful run in Cleveland, and despite having a pretty nasty public breakup, the former teammates have made nice effectively setting the stage for the two to reunite.
