In spite of all the controversy that surrounds Kanye West for his "slavery was a choice" comments and endorsement of Donald Trump, the hip-hop community has not turned their backs on Kanye altogether, primarily in respects to the Yeezys that are still some of the most coveted sneakers on the market. With that said, it's no surprise that fellow rappers have continued to co-sign Kanye's innovative methods in the face of public criticism, as a pair of fly new sneakers is still a status symbol whether they're controversial or not.

"You can say what you want about Kanye," Dave East recently said on social media, "the n**** ain't my best friend and I don't really give a f*** what he do as far as the Trump s*** go, but the n***** sneakers is fire I don't care who said they're not."

Later in the clip, East spoke to what he perceived was hypocrisy in terms of public outrage, saying "Y'all don't want to rock Yeezys because he pulled up on Trump with the red hat? I got 'two pair', Nelly time on God."

The sneakers that East is holding in the clip are the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 "Static," that was released last week at $300 retail price.
