In a recent interview with Time, Serena Williams gave her take on the NFL and Colin Kaepernick ordeal. During which Serena said she believes Kaepernick could help lead a team to a Super Bowl victory. Serena said if she were Kap and given the chance to play again she would definitely have something to prove. "I would. I can’t imagine he would be any different. 'Man, I’m about to show out. Y’all gonna see stuff you’ve never seen before.'" However, she conceded that no team would give him the opportunity especially after filing a grievance against the league.

Nonetheless, the Miami Dolphins minority owner said that she supports the players' right to protest during the anthem. Serena noted that she doesn't believe the de facto blackballing has negatively impacted Kaepernick. She actually believes it's done the complete opposite. "Colin is happy with what he’s doing ... Some people are different. He’s just different."
