J.T. of Miami rap duo City Girls surrendered herself for her 24-month prison sentence due to charges relating to felony identity theft on June 29. She was originally expected to surrender on June 25, but her lawyer filed a motion to delay because the City Girls were expected to appear at the BET Awards on June 24.

Her lawyer also name-dropped Drake's cosign in the motion, writing, “This is due to a recent cosign from Drake (other noticeable cosigns include Migos, DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Rick Ross and Trina). It will take three weeks to do the work that needs to be done and then the Defendant can surrender as her first album and its promotion will be done. She can do her time knowing that upon her release her group will be ready to start their second album and tour.”

While J.T. didn't get the 30 days her lawyer was asking for, she was able to make her appearance at the BET Awards. She is expected to be released on March 21, 2020.
