Trippie Redd was one of the featured artists for the highly coveted but always debatable XXX Freshman Cover. Part of the feature involves artists showcasing their rap skills in an individual freestyle as well as a group cypher. However, Trippie Redd decided to skip the latter due to the fact that the beat was going to be "trash."
“So f*** all that sh**. I wasn't left off the cypher or none of that sh**. I just didn't want to do it. I chose not to do it because I knew the beat was going to be trash,” Trippie said. “Nothing against XXL or them people, but I just didn’t want to be a part of that. I wanted to do my freestyle ya feel me? That’s all I cared about, that’s all I wanted to do was show y’all what I can do.”
