Jason Kessler, the white supremacist organizer responsible for staging the rally in Charlottesville, VA last year that made waves throughout the nation for its overt racism and bigotry as well as the unfortunate death of an anti-racist protester, Heather Heyer. Kessler, who was famously attacked by anti-racists protesters during his press conference in Charlottesville reportedly obtained approval to hold the "white rights rally" in Lafayette Park in Washington D.C. on August 12th, a year to the day of the Charlottesville rally. He has the rally listed beginning on August 11th at 8 AM and ending on August 12th at 8 PM. The application also included the notes, “protesting civil rights abuse in Charlottesville/white civil rights rally,” and “members of Antifa related groups will try to disrupt.”

The Washington Post reports that Kessler was also looking to hold a rally in Charlottesville on the same day but is currently suing the city for denying his application. In addition to the denial, Kessler was also banned from the University of Virginia campus, a university that he is an alumnus of.
