Collegiate themed Air Jordan retros have become sneaker holy grails due to the limited quantity released to the general public. While many college athletes have access to the sneakers, the sneaker community has to sit back and wait for their favorite pairs to become available on eBay or other sneaker consignment websites/retailers or wait for Jordan Brand to eventually mass produce a particular pair for the masses to attempt to cop. Now, the Jumpman is releasing a sneaker dedicated to his alma mater in the form of his third signature silhouette.

The Air Jordan III 'University of North Carolina' features a white tumbled leather base complete with the institution's logo embroidered on the tongue in 'University Blue.' Other 'University Blue' detailing hits the sneaker lacing eyelets, Argyle-printed insole, tongue lining, and midsole while the notorious elephant print textured mudguard hits the heel and forefoot of the kicks. Debossed Jumpman logos hit the heel of the kicks while a 'Cool Grey' and 'University Blue' outsole close out the kicks.

Unfortunately, only 250 pairs of the Air Jordan III 'UNC' will be made available so the majority of the sneaker community might have to pay extra for the sneakers via the resale market. With that said, let us know your thoughts on these joints in the comments.
