Rob Gronkowski recently informed fans that he’ll return to the New England Patriots next season despite recent health concerns. The fan-favorite tight end sat down with the team’s head coach Bill Belichick this week and divulged the details of the meeting on his Instagram account.

“I met with coach today and informed him I will be back for the 2018 season with the Pats. I have been working out, staying in shape and feel great. Looking forward to another championship run,” wrote Gronk on his Instagram account.

His health became a concern last season when he missed 2 games after suffering a concussion. He seemed to consider retirement when speaking with reporters after losing in the 2018 Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles. Now it seems that he’s put those thoughts behind him and wants to return to the field to shoot for another championship with his team that has been a dominant force in the NFL over the last 15 years.

Gronk’s manager Drew Rosenhaus confirmed his client’s enthusiasm to ESPN earlier this week. “It was very positive and Rob is committed,” said Rohenhaus after the meeting with Belichick. Gronk has won two Super Bowls with the team and it looks like he's ready to work towards at least one more.
