Dwight Howard put on a heck of a performance before those who came to see his revenge match-up against the Atlanta Hawks at his old Philips Arena stomping grounds on Thursday night, March 15. The 33 points and 12 rebounds he compiled were game highs that combined to make for one of his best games of the season. But seeing how Howard did it all while working across from a group of guys he played alongside just last year came as no surprise to his former teammate Dennis Schroder.

"He plays always great against his former team. Credit to him too, but that's like four games each year, you know?" Schroder is reported as having said following ATL's 129-117 loss to Howard and the Hornets.

Despite a gradual decline in his scoring statistics over the past half-decade, and his failure to carry a team since departing from Orlando in 2012, Dwight Howard has got a pretty credible legion of experts who defend that he'll be in the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame by the time his career is over. However, even his most loyal supporters will inevitably question how much more he could have gotten accomplished had the 8-time All-Star center brought a different energy to the arena.

Schroder's remarks appeared to invoke the knock that many have long had against Howard over the apparent lack of passion he appears to have for the game. The 24-year-old point guard listed Houston and L.A. among the other teams that Howard actually shows up for, before saying, "I think he's always giving his best there but the others games he [shrug]."
