This new wave of chunky sneakers has inspired high-fashion brands like Balenciaga and GUCCI to curate their own dad-esque sneaker models. At the end of last year, we saw Kanye's adidas YEEZY Desert Rat 500 prior to the Christmas holiday in a three colorway bundle that ran people's pockets for a total of $760, complete with a matching YEEZY Season 6 hoodie and shorts to match. Now, it looks like the kicks are set to drop in a wider release individually in the near future for the masses to partake in.
The adidas YEEZY Desert Rat 500 features a mesh base complete with strategically placed suede overlays, 3M reflective piping that can be seen during the night hours, lacing eyelets that intertwine with the tongue of the kicks complete with a thick midsole/outsole combination. This particular YEEZY sneaker ditches adidas' patented BOOST technology for the adiPRENE cushioning system.
The adidas YEEZY Desert Rat 500 will be available for a more satisfactory price tag of $220 come March of this year along with a multitude of additional individual releases dropping throughout the year.
