Volusia County, Florida was rocked to the core when a man seeking to adopt a child was arrested for illegal pornographic material at his home.
Erik Thomas Deemer may have seemed like a local man, looking to make a positive change in a young child's life. However, Sheriff's Spokesman Andrew Grant explained that after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children dropped off a tip to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office's Child Exploitation Unit, an entirely different image was soon painted. There was no hesitation to stop the process of allowing an innocent minor into Deemer's Edgewater home once they discovered what they found.
Deputies found themselves investigating Deemer by searching the 38-year-old's Willow Oak Drive house. There, they found the vile content of "children between the ages of 4 and 9," according to Click 2 Houston.
The news source explained: "In one image a child was bound by rope and tape and in another, older children were wearing diapers and one was using a pacifier, according to authorities."
Deemer was arrested on Thursday and hauled off to the Volusia County Jail with 11 counts of possession of child pornography. Detectives are still actively searching for the children recorded in these videos to bring the families justice.
