Dennis Rodman was arrested in Southern California last weekend for allegedly drunk driving on the West Coast Highway at about 11 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 13). The Newport Beach police who pulled Rodman over for a traffic violation, say that he failed breathalyzer and field sobriety tests.

Now, the NBA Hall of Famer has checked himself into a rehabilitation center for his alcohol abuse according to his agent, Darren Prince. The DUI arrest was a wake-up call for the 56-year-old, and in a statement to The Associated Press, Rodman will be staying at Turning Point Rehabilitation Center in Paterson, New Jersey. The former NBA bad boy is hoping to learn to deal with his longtime struggle with alcoholism.

After his arrest Rodman's lawyer said, "Dennis is taking this seriously and will take positive steps to address his personal issues." He continued: “He appreciates the professionalism of the Newport Beach Police Department.”

Rodman stayed at Turning Point in 2014 after he returned to the States from North Korea where he orchestrated an exhibition basketball game for Kim Jong Un. Since then, he maintains to have a good friendship with the North Korean leader and has even offered to try to mend things between President Trump and Kim Jong. This will be his second stint in rehab.
