Academy-award winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on to be a part of Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming Charles Manson themed film, according to Page Six.
DiCaprio previously worked with Tarantino in “Django Unchained” which also starred Jamie Foxx. The Manson film might also reunite him with his “Wolf of Wall Street” co-star Margot Robbie, who is currently being tapped for the role of Sharon Tate.
Aside from those two, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are also said to be involved with the project which takes place around the time of the Manson murders in 1970s Los Angeles. DiCaprio will play an aging actor in the film, but not much other information is available on his role at this time. The movie is also said to be highly influenced by Tarantino’s most revered picture, “Pulp Fiction.”
The film is releasing on August 9, 2019, a date that coincides with the 50th anniversary of Sharon Tate’s death. Tarantino will team up with “Harry Potter” producer David Heyman, Shannon McIntosh and Georgia Kacandes to create the film which starts production later this year. The Manson-movie will also mark DiCaprio’s first appearance on the big screen since his Oscar-winning role in 2015’s “The Revenant.”
