Coming off a lackluster debut album, the Fugees follow-up project garnered them worldwide acclaim with the album going diamond three times. Wyclef recalled feeling good about the project as they were recording and revealed that the smash single "Fu-Gee-La" was originally for Fat Joe.
Wyclef went into how the group's success and their relative youth played a big part in the tension that was building amongst its members. He points to having money and ego got in the way of their third album. Wyclef also talks about his romantic relationship with Lauryn Hill and how that impacted the group and their eventual disbanding.
