Drake's position at the top of the game isn't one the Canadian emcee plans on relinquishing anytime soon, and his staggering 12 BET Awards nominations for the 2013 event is a solid reflection of that.
Drizzy killed the "Video of the Year" category with five nominations for his collabos with Kendrick Lamar ("Poetic Justice"), 2 Chainz ("No Lie"), and A$AP Rocky ("F*ckin' Problems") and for his singles "HYFR", from his hit LP "Take Care", and "Started From the Bottom", from his upcoming third album, "Nothing Was the Same."
The Young Money baller will be facing off against Rihanna ("Diamonds"), Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z ("Suit & Tie"), Kanye West ("Mercy"), Miguel ("Adorn") and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ("Thrift Shop") for the video of the year award.
Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz tied for the second most noms with eight apiece. A$AP Rocky picked up five, including a nod for Video Director of the Year, while Miguel snagged four and Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, and Hov each scored three.
The "Best New Artist" category will see Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, and Trinidad James battling it out for a trophy, while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Slaughterhouse, and The Throne will be competing for "Best Group."
Chris Brown and R. Kelly are slated to perform during the live broadcast, which goes down June 30 at L.A.'s Nokia Theater.
