When will people learn that going blackface is not OK, at all?
A frat at the University of California-Irvine sent out an apology this week, after a video surfaced of one of their members partying in blackface.
Lamda Theta Delta, UC's biggest Asian fraternity, posted a video on YouTube of four brothers getting down to "Suit & Tie" by Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. Rainier Nanquil was identified as the one dancing in blackface, supposedly as an attempt to look more like Jay-Z.
Thomas Parham, vice chancellor of student affairs, reassured the Daily Pilot that they are indeed investigating the incident.
"We are dismayed to see what I think is insensitive in a video parody that was made by these individuals," said Parham.
Apparently, the video has a "no racism intended" disclaimer, but that may simply show that they knew blackface would be offensive.
Are you offended by their actions?
