SOHH recently chatted with Southern hip hop icon Big Boi about rap today and who he thinks is killing it in the game. The Savannah native was quick to name Mississippi emcee Big K.R.I.T.
"Big K.R.I.T. [is my favorite new artist that's stepped on the scene]. He has substance in music; he has substance and he's a dope producer," he told SOHH writer Amber McKynzie. "He's talking about something. It's not the same song over and over and over again with different dudes on it; I like how he switches it up. But most of all, [I like him] because of the substance. You can make the party records all day long, but damn, don't [people] chill out sometimes? Don't you just wants some peace or some tea or something?"
