Frank Ocean took to his tumblr page yesterday to comment on the recent altercation between him and Chris Brown. Conflicting accounts of the story have made it difficult to tell exactly what happened, but Ocean is looking to set things straight.
Brown and Ocean scuffled at an LA recording studio last Sunday, in which Ocean was reportedly hit with a punch from Chris Brown. Rumors flew that Ocean would be pressing charges against Brown, but Brown maintained that the punch he allegedly threw was actually an attempted handshake. After Ocean's tumblr post, all of this is pretty irrelevant.
"AS A CHILD I THOUGHT IF SOMEONE JUMPED ME IT WOULD RESULT IN ME MURDERING OR MUTILATING A MAN," read Ocean's post. "BUT AS A MAN I AM NOT A KILLER. I'M AN ARTIST AND A MODERN PERSON. I'LL CHOOSE SANITY. NO CRIMINAL CHARGES. NO CIVIL LAWSUIT. FORGIVENESS, ALBEIT DIFFICULT, IS WISDOM. PEACE, ALBEIT TRITE, IS WHAT I WANT IN MY SHORT LIFE. PEACE."
The two will meet again next weekend at the Grammy's, where they will duke it out among a few others for the Best Urban Contemporary Album award.
