Rap newcomer Azealia Banks recently made a major career move, with the hopes of amping up her game.
According to the "Hollywood Reporter" The 20-year-old Harlem Femcee has hired Lady Gaga's manager Troy Carter to take on managerial duties.
Troy Carter's company, The Atom Factory, also represents Mindless Behavior and Greyson Chance.
Banks had this to say about the move,
"I just switched management.. Literally like three days ago, and have a whole new set of resources to take advantage of," tweeted Banks. "We're gonna vamp this up and make it official.. No more ghetto mixes and closet recording.. I have a budget now!"
Carter's biggest client, Lady Gaga, must of approved of the signing. A couple years ago the outspoken artist threatened to leave Carter if he took on Nicki Minaj as a client. Maybe she doesn't see this addition as a threat of losing attention.
Banks recently shut it down with her performance at Coachella, and her singles "212" and "Grand Prix" are starting to take off. Her debut album 1991 is scheduled to be released in September.
Do you think this management change was a smart move? Who's the better lyricist, Harlem's Azealia Banks or Queens spitter Nicki Minaj?
