Whitney Houston, who once ruled as the queen of pop until her voice and image were ravaged by drug use, strange behavior and a tumultuous marriage to Bobby Brown, has died. Houston was 48.
Houston's publicist, Kristen Foster, said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.
News of the singer's death has come on the eve of the music industry's biggest night - the Grammy Awards.
Our hearts go out to Whitney's family and friends. More on this breaking story will be reported as details become available.
