A University of Central Florida student reportedly suffering from a bad acid trip had to be subdued with a Taser after becoming combative with an officer attempting to put him in handcuffs.

Police were called Sunday afternoon after UCF student John Kane allegedly attacked other students and pulled a school library fire alarm.

UCF officers found him barefoot and shirtless looking disoriented outside the school building.

Kane initially complied when responding officer Erik Lanshinsky asked him to get on the ground. However, Kane flipped out after being informed he was being handcuffed and attempted to run off, at which point officer Lanshinsky brought him down with a Taser shot to the back.

Kane was taken to the hospital and eventually admitted to officers he had taken LSD. He reportedly escaped the incident without injury, though he may face criminal charges and will be subject to the Office of Student Conduct's review process.
