Grandmaster Caz spoke with VladTV exclusively about his views of the rap game, his influence, and if he knew the genre would be around for the long haul.
Caz says he and the Cold Crush Brothers released several singles like, "Fresh, Wild, Fly & Bold" but never released a studio album. Caz places the fault on the label and management since they were unaware of the type of deal they had. With Rakim, Corey Gunz and many other rappers naming Caz as a clear influence in Hip Hop, Caz says he's aware of his impact, although some might not be familiar with his legacy.
The Bronx native says LHHNY star Peter Gunz named his youngest son Caz, paying homage to the rapper. He also looks at Peter's children as family because of their friendship.
When it comes to the influence Hip Hop has grown to, Caz says he didn't know it would literally take it this far, but believed it had the potential to.
