Rapsody has held down a healthy career in Hip-Hop over the years, and the North Carolina native admitted to VladTV that MC Lyte's "Poor Georgie" inspired her to forge out her own lane in the industry. She specifically said that the video sparked a huge interest in her, because she had never seen such a commanding female emcee before.

During the conversation, the "Believe Me" artist also spoke about signing to 9th Wonder's Jamla label, and revealed that she and the famed producer connected after a meeting in 2005. Rapsody then says that the meeting to join the label a few years ago only lasted a few minutes, because 9th knew her potential and the talent she possessed.
