When it comes to athletic performance, Nike Basketball always makes sure that their athletes are equipped with top-tier footwear to help assist them in their journey to greatness. As shoes have become somewhat of a blueprint when it comes to an athlete's performance (besides countless hours of hard work), it's highly important that players like Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James have aspects of their kicks that help and not harm their game on the court.

Gaining insight from the players themselves, Nike makes sure that each shoe is tailored to each player's unique game respectively.

Designed by Leo Chang, the Nike KD 7 'Elite' helps assist KD with the natural motion of his foot. Basically a 7-foot player with the skill set of a point guard, there's a very wide range of things that Durant can do on the court. With that being said, Durant not only needs his shoe to be durable, but flexible as well. Giving the model the same overall look, perforated holes are intricately placed throughout the entire shoe to enhance its durability.

When it comes to the 'Black Mamba', designer Eric Avar may be the only one who isn't afraid of Kobe's assertiveness. Going back to the high route of the Kobe IX Elite, the Kobe X 'Elite' consists of a flyknit upper that happens to be the first to use recycled polyester yarn. Another aspect that's kept within the Elite version is the dynamic traction inspired by Nike's Free running soles. Lightweight and flexible, the Kobe X 'Elite' is a shoe that keep the Mamba in control while assisting in his deadly attack (Get well soon Kobe).

Moving on to LeBron James, it must be pretty hard for any type of shoe to support a player standing at 6'8 and carrying 250+ pounds during a 48-minute basketball game. Nonetheless, Nike has been able to cater to the skill set of 'King James'. Embodying strength and stability, Nike has added new vertical wings in order to wrap down the foot for lockdown and stability. Looking like a shoe that's ready for war, the swoosh hit the nail on the head when it comes to the Lebron 12's Elite edition.

Consisting of three different collections, the Nike Elite Series will begin its first launch in April. To kicks things off, the 'Team Collection' will launch on April 17th and features the team colors of Durant, Bryant, and James. Following up, the 'Elevate' Collection will hit shelves on May 15th and places emphasis on blue hues as a nod to the sky. Lastly, the 'Rose Gold' collection will be available on June 5th to represent the tough journey on the road to a championship.
