Queens rapper Consequence sat down with VladTV to discuss his friendship with Busta Rhymes, resolving his past rift with cousin Q-Tip, and also breaks down a few of Hip-Hop's family trees.
The Cons spoke on knowing Busta Rhymes since he was a kid, saying they recently caught up with each other at a T-Pain listening session and spoke in a stairwell for an hour and a half, as other partygoers listened with their ears to the door. He reveals that Busta felt torn between him and Q-Tip while the two cousins went through their past issues, including Cons calling out Tip on the radio and even saying they weren't related out of anger. They've since resolved their issues, as Consequence now knows he can't run from his own history.
The "Grammy Family" MC also spoke about Hip-Hop family trees, saying NWA's tree spawned almost all of west coast rap, including The Game, Kendrick Lamar and others. He proudly comes from the Native Tongues/ATCQ family tree, which he believes also spawned G.O.O.D. Music through his connection to Kanye. He also mentions Wu-Tang, Roc-A-Fella, and The Dungeon Family as other trees within Hip-Hop that have given birth to several artists.
