Recently, Rich The Kid granted VladTV an interview during which the emerging Atlanta artist discussed what motivated him to transition from being a listener to becoming an actual lyricist, which other artists he'd like to work with, and what circumstances prompted his name change.

RTK revealed what situations compelled his entrance into the booth after relocating to Atlanta from Queens, insisting that the exposure to Hip-Hop's Southern sound from signature artists like Outkast, in conjunction with his uncle having his own home-based studio, compelled him to start "messing with the music."

Soon, the Queens native shared that although his parents separated and he accompanied his mother to the South, he credits that shift in environment with influencing his musical start. He reveals, "Maybe if I didn't move I wouldn't be doing music at all."

Of course, his work with the incredibly popular group Migos came up during the discussion, and the dialogue then turned to highlight Meek Mill, whom Rich would like to work with in the future. The "Quit Playin'" rapper then credited Meek for his originality saying, "I feel like he's more original than anybody else out right now.
