Reports of a decrease in crime in Philadelphia have been contradicted by several instances of gunfire that have taken place in the city this month.

Two men were involved in an attempted shooting earlier this month that left two victims in stable condition. Officials revealed the incident took place in the neighborhood of Ogontz on March 8 when two men approached two other men in a parked car and fired into the vehicle. The victims, aged 25 and 27 years old, were talking to a group of people standing outside of the car when they were shot. Both victims were shot in the wrist, legs and forearm.

A recent report by the FBI revealed that the city's crime fell 7 percent from last year. Gun violence has also dropped in Philly as well as armed robberies by two percent. In 2014, a total of 1,047 people were shot compared to 2013's total of 1,128.
