New York has seen a slight decline in crime but a rise in murders this year. In a press conference on Monday, Commissioner Bill Bratton revealed 18 murders occurred in February alone, an additional six since February of last year. In an effort to reduce the numbers, the NYPD have started to mimic what several other states have done and release surveillance footage of shootings, robberies and other crimes online to help find culprits and keep them off the streets.

The latest video the NYPD released is a reckless endangerment case that took place in early February. Officials claim that a man wearing a hoodie shot into an apartment lobby in Harlem. Coincidentally, the shooting happened a few blocks from the police station.

No one was harmed in the shooting, but police have yet to find the shooter or a motive.
