A hostage situation turned into a major drug and gun bust when a Florida native allegedly held a female escort hostage in his parent's home last week.
The incident began on Tuesday in St. Petersburg when Casey Joseph Lowe contacted an escort through social media. After Lowe refused to pay for the services, he allegedly held the woman at gunpoint in the home. The woman was able to contact a male friend waiting close by who called the police.
A SWAT team was also called in and Lowe let the woman go. Lowe's mother and 15-year-old sister were startled about the incident and claim he would never solicit sex from an escort.
"I can't believe that," Holly, the suspect's mother said. "He has more gorgeous girlfriends than you can even imagine."
After police entered the home, they uncovered far more than they bargained for when multiple guns, prescription drugs and marijuana were found. While his mother continued to paint a good portrait of her son, officials revealed he was previously arrested for battery and drug possession.
