With all of the major success that Battle Rap has gained thus far in 2014, it looks like billionaire Alkiviades "Alki" David plans on closing the show with his groundbreaking "Ether" event, which is headlined by Cassidy vs. Dizaster.  The highly anticipated match is going down on December 6th, and also features what can be anticipated as "the battle of the antics" clash between Daylyt vs. Bizarre.  Alki will also be utilizing a special "hologram experience" that will include the visuals of various special guests during the event, much like the 2012 Coachella Festival hologram of 2pac, which David played a major role in creating.

His FilmOn.TV Internet TV site will be live-streaming the battles for everyone around the world to witness, and he has high hopes that this will mark a new beginning for Battle Rap in the mainstream spotlight.  He spoke to the Phoenix New Times about what he hopes to accomplish from this event.

"This is definitely the beginning of a UFC-style league for battle rap,"  he said.  "It's an intellectual sport and real social commentary.

"The format has to be something the mainstream can understand.  I think what's going to happen is the poetry of the spoken word will be elevated more and more, because eventually saying 'f****t' and 'n***a' are going to have to be replaced by something more competitive... There's only so far you can go."
