Freddie Gibbs makes unapologetic gangsta rap and as far as the impressionable youth are concerned, in his opinion, it's up to their parents, not him, to make sure they don't see his music videos if they deem them inappropriate

In Noisey's The People Vs. series, artists take negative criticism from fans in the comments section of their YouTube vids and meet it head on.

When taken to task for the content in his video for "Thuggin," which features actual crack cocaine usage, Gibbs made it known that keeping kids away from adult subject matter isn't in his job description.

"I'm soon to be a parent, so I kinda understand [the criticism], but I don't. You're supposed to control the media and the things kids see in your household. That's not my job," Gibbs responded. "I do this to feed my family. My mom's living good off these thug ass raps and me rapping about crack. You want me to stop my money?"

Gibbs went on to express his desire to represent authenticity and real life in his art.
