Smoke DZA sat down for an exclusive interview with VladTV, where he opened up about his early career in battle rap, but says he'll never go back now that he's successful. However, he does credit battle rapping for building his confidence, saying, "I didn't run around losing."

He then declared Murda Mook as the "best battle rapper in the world," and explains that he's "part of the reason that battle rap got commercial." Smoke DZA says that it's great that battle rappers are getting paid a good chunk of money these days, which he likens to boxing.
