Ja Rule sat down with VladTV and discussed the sometimes tricky use of the N-Word among Black people and those of other races.

In 2001, Ja Rule penned Jennifer Lopez's smash hit, "I'm Real," which included a line where J. Lo said the n-word, setting off a firestorm of backlash at the time. Ja says he never viewed Jenny saying the word as a problem, as most of his Spanish friends use it with him all the time. He feels the reason J. Lo caught so much heat for it was because she had a broader fan base that didn't see her as "Jenny from the Block," or a Spanish girl from the Bronx, but as a global icon to be held to a different standard, and in some cases she's even seen as white.
