Smack/URL's Norbes spoke with VladTV Battle Rap Journalist Michael Hughes about the major PG adjustments he and the URL staff are making for the future.

He previously announced upon the release of the Mr. Wavy vs. Prez Mafia battle that he was going to be making cuts to the current PG class.  Norbes explained that he doesn't feel as though it is necessary to put effort into building a particular talent who doesn't respect the support that you're providing them with in order to properly expand their brand to a wider audience.  He, along with the majority of Battle Rap fans, believe that Smack/URL is the NBA of the lyrical sport, and that some of the new PG battlers haven't been respecting the contracts they signed with the URL to remain primarily associated with their brand.

He specifically named JC and Danny Myers as two people who came up with some strong momentum, but who have since lost all anticipation to see them battle because they accept battles on a variety of smaller, and at times, random battle leagues.  Norbes feels as though it is necessary to "police" this kind of activity, and focus solely on those who are loyal to building their image under the guidance of Smack/URL, who hope to bring them the most fame and fortune in the long run.  Any and all battlers who are cut from the PG roster will not be featured on Smack/URL again, according to Norbes.

Norbes' firm decisions to make these types of cuts may seem harsh to many, but it is up to his and the URL staff to make tough business decisions for the benefit of their company.  What are your thoughts on the PG cuts?  Is Norbes being too harsh on battlers who take on opponents on opposing leagues?
