While the recent footage of Ray Rice clocking his now wife Janay Palmer has many wondering what set him off in the first place, rumors began to swirl that a text from Rice's friend, singer Teyana Taylor, was the focus of the argument between the two that led to the elevator altercation.
Taylor is denying this allegation, saying she had absolutely nothing to do with the Ray Rice incident.
"The reason they were fighting was because they were fighting, they both was dead a**wrong, not because anybody received no text from me because I ain't got nothing to do with that," she said in an interview with Power 99.
She also spoke on the fact that only certain sites and blogs are entertaining the story.
"It's so sad, because it's only our people. This is a big matter. ESPN hasn't said my name, no sports blog has said my name, but a whole bunch of our people...that want it to be true so bad but I can't entertain those kinds of things."
Teyana then says that she is friends with Rice, who dated a friend of hers years ago, and that both he and his wife were wrong for putting their hands on each other.
