Avid "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" fans remember the episode arc where Ashley Banks pursued a singing career towards the end of the series. What we didn't know is that producers came up with that storyline after hearing Ali sing Karaoke during a wrap party.
Smith later asked Ali if she'd like to pursue a real singing career and she was soon signed to his production company, where she put out her first album "Kiss the Sky," which went gold.
When it comes to her co-star, Ali feels the fact that he was considered "corny" by many is the reason the "Fresh Prince" doesn't receive the credit he deserves for his music, even though he was the first rap artist (along with partner in crime DJ Jazzy Jeff) to receive a Grammy.
